WHAT IS GLAMOUR MODELLING?
BRIEF HISTORY OF GLAMOUR ?
The first real step towards glamour as we know it now began in 1953 with Playboy when it featured Marilyn Monroe on the front cover and nude photos of her inside.
After Playboy was popularized many magazines followed suit and this open the door to Glamour models and photographers.
Today Glamour modelling has changed again, as there are now many types with in Glamour industry and this is where girls need to be careful and where we aim to help.
GLAMOUR IS NOT PORN!!
SO WHAT IS GLAMOUR THEN?
Glamour is anything from lingerie to nude but is more focused on the sensuality and sexiness of the model. Glamour models have very different looks, think about the Lucy Pinder with Nuts Magazine and compare it to the Sun's page 3 or even Fiesta
One quick fact! Lucy Pinder, one the UK's biggest Glamour Models, has been involved with Glamour modelling since being discovered approx 4yrs ago but has only this year been featured totally topless!
As a Glamour model the emphasis is on you rather than anything you may or not be wearing, but this should always be agreed before a shoot starts. It's all about being sexy, alluring and the eyes! You can change the look of a photo with just your eyes, making the person believe/imagine that you want them.
CAN ANYONE BECOME A GLAMOUR MODEL?
It would be wrong for me to say that everyone can be a Glamour Model, the same as I could never say anyone can be a T.V presenter.
There are less restrictions on a Glamour model i.e. no height restrictions, age or size really you do have to have a toned body as you can't really hide anything but that does not say mean that you have to be a size 6 or have huge breasts. It's all about pert, toned bodies with a strong mental attitude as people will criticize you and your body and you have to learn not to take it personally.
You have to be able to put up with the unglamourous side, the cold shoots on location, long hours and casting calls, other peoples attitudes and keep laughing and smiling!
To have a chance in reaching the point where this can be your career it is all about your personality, attitude and professionalism.
HOW LONG IS A CAREER IN GLAMOUR MODELLING?
Jordan is the exception not the rule of thumb for a Glamour Model. A lot of Glamour models remain in the lime light only until someone new comes along or they lose what made them big, it's a very big business with a lot of girls wanting to be the next big thing.
Jordan has managed very cleverly to grow her career from not only a Glamour Model but to being as famous for just being her and writing books from fact to fiction and now children's among many other things, she now become a role model.
Lucy Pinder is another Glamour Model who is also proving to be clever and now also writes for Nuts magazine.
So the answer really is, as long as you're prepared to work and put the effort in and adding more 'strings to your bow' then the world could be your oyster, but it won't happen over night!
To coin a phrase I once heard, successful Glamour Modelling is not about how much they see, but how much they think they're going to see!
